A meeting between Cong. Carlito S. Marquez and ASU Campus Directors, Dr. Michael T. Ibisate and Mr. Arthur E. Jizmundo was held today, November, 9, 2020 to set up a Decentralized Learning Center (DLC) in the Eastern District of Aklan.
The DLC will be set up in Kalibo, Banga, Libacao, Madalag, New Washington, Balete, Altavas, and Batan.
The proposed DLC looks for a collaborative undertaking with the respective local government Units (LGUs) for a learning space where the DLC can be setup with internet connectivity and equipment.
A learning repository will be provided to students by the concerned LGUs where they can access all the required learning materials online through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the LGU and ASU.
“The DLC is intended to facilitate free internet and ready access to computer facilities so that students will no longer travel to the campuses of the University to retrieve their learning materials. This as we put their health and well being as our topmost priority”, ASU President Dr. Emily M. Arangote said in a letter to Cong. Marquez.
